Job Summary We are seeking a fast, detail-oriented, and reliable Bindery & Print Finishing Specialist to join our high-volume print shop. In this role, you will be responsible for the final stage of the print production cycle, transforming raw printed sheets into professionally finished, high-quality products. You will set up, operate, and maintain a variety of specialized bindery equipment while working under tight deadlines to ensure client orders are completed accurately and shipped on time.
Key Responsibilities Equipment Operation:
Efficiently set up, program, and operate commercial bindery machinery, including programmable paper cutters, high-speed folders, saddle stitchers, and more.
Job Ticket Interpretation:
Thoroughly read and interpret electronic and physical work orders to determine accurate job specifications, layout instructions, paper types, and custom finishing requirements.
Quality Control:
Conduct continuous visual inspections of finished products throughout the production run.
Routine Maintenance:
Perform basic preventative maintenance, mechanical troubleshooting, blade changes, and cleanings to minimize machine downtime.
Requirements & Qualifications Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating bindery or post-press finishing equipment in a commercial printing facility preferred.
Technical Aptitude:
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to safely adjust machine parts (knives, guides, rollers) and perform basic troubleshooting.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to stand for long periods (8-10 hours per day), perform repetitive tasks, and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
Basic Skills:
Proficiency in basic math (fractions, decimals, and ruler measurements) and familiarity with digital shop data collection systems.
Pay:
$16.00 - $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
