- Sunday) Join a dynamic team in Liberty, MO as a Skilled Mazak Laser Operator and take advantage of an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art machinery in a fast-paced automotive environment.
Laser Operator Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC laser cutting machines to cut sheet metal and other materials (Specifically Operating
- CO2 Laser, Plas, 4K & 5K fiber machines)
- Perform machine setup including loading programs, selecting materials, and adjusting cutting parameters
- Ensure proper alignment, calibration, and machine readiness before production runs
- Load and unload raw materials and finished parts using appropriate lifting equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings
- Utilize CNC programs (G-code or nesting software) to execute cutting operations
- Make real-time adjustments to optimize cut quality, speed, and material usage
- Collaborate with engineering or programming teams to resolve issues and improve processes
- Inspect parts for accuracy, tolerances, and surface quality
- Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Identify defects and take corrective action to maintain product standards
- Document inspection results and maintain production records
- Perform routine maintenance including cleaning lenses, changing nozzles, and checking machine components
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and escalate as needed for repair
- Maintain proper gas levels (nitrogen, oxygen) and monitor system performance
- Minimize downtime by quickly identifying and resolving operational issues Requirements for
Laser Operator:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- At least five year of related experienced strongly preferred
- Mechanical knowledge of machines, tools, repairs, and maintenance
- Able to lift and handle objects weighing up to 50 lbs multiple times daily
