Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Band Saw Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating band saw machinery to cut various metal and sheet metal materials with precision and efficiency. Your expertise in machine setup, safety protocols, and quality measurement will ensure that production meets high standards of accuracy and safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with technical drawings, and experience in machining processes, contributing to the seamless fabrication of metal components. Duties Operate band saw machines to cut raw materials according to technical specifications and production schedules Set up and adjust machine parameters, tooling, and fixtures to ensure precise cuts Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math to determine cutting dimensions and angles Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on machinery to ensure optimal performance Measure finished parts using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications Collaborate with team members on fabrication tasks involving sheet metal, forming machines, and other machining equipment Follow safety standards and protocols rigorously during all operations to prevent accidents Maintain a clean work environment, organize tools, and document production activities accurately Requirements Proven experience operating band saws or similar cutting machinery within a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment Mechanical knowledge of machining tools such as CNC laser cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe, stamping presses, plasma cutting, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and press brake machines Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and use measurement instruments for quality control Familiarity with shop math, basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and adherence to safety protocols Experience with machine setup, tooling adjustments, and performing routine maintenance on fabrication equipment Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes including sheet metal work and assembly techniques Ability to operate hand tools, cranes, and other shop equipment efficiently Mechanical aptitude combined with excellent attention to detail for quality inspection and measurement accuracy If you are committed to precision craftsmanship in a dynamic manufacturing setting, we encourage you to apply today.
