Job Description
Steel Machine Operator We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Machine Operator to join a growing fabrication team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating machinery in a structural steel fabrication environment and be comfortable working with a variety of automated and manual equipment. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to grow their skill set and take on additional responsibility. Candidates with the ability to program, troubleshoot, and train others on structural steel machinery may be eligible for increased compensation. Responsibilities Operate structural steel fabrication machinery safely and efficiently. Set up and run equipment according to project specifications and production requirements. Read and interpret shop drawings, measurements, and fabrication details. Monitor machine operation and ensure finished products meet quality standards. Perform basic machine troubleshooting and adjustments as needed. Work closely with the fabrication team to maintain production schedules. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA standards. Assist with machine programming, setup, and optimization when qualified. Equipment Experience Experience operating any of the following is highly desirable: Plasma Torch AngleMaster ACPC Machine Structural Steel Bending Machines Drill Line Other CNC or automated structural steel fabrication equipment Qualifications Previous experience operating machinery in a structural steel fabrication shop required. Ability to read and understand shop drawings and measurements. Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Ability to safely operate and maintain industrial machinery. Reliable, hardworking, and willing to learn. Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience programming structural steel fabrication machinery . CNC machine programming experience. Experience setting up and troubleshooting automated equipment. Ability to train other machine operators. Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication processes.
