Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a 1 st Shift Operator A Foam MFG at our Tupelo/Verona, MS manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for the safe operation of a specific piece of equipment used in the manufacture of components and/or finished products for internal and external customers as defined by a daily production schedule. As an hourly Operator A Foam MFG , the successful candidate will be expected to communicate on a daily basis with multiple levels of Company personnel and most importantly with the Managers, Supervisors, and employees in the manufacturing plant. Operator A - Utility works in a normal manufacturing environment with exposure to temperature changes. Additional responsibilities of the Operator A Foam MFG position will include: Must be able to operate the machinery proficiently according to customer specifications and daily production schedule. Perform all 1 st shift positions plant wide as needed (lift driver, loading/unloading trucks, crane operator, checker/loader, etc.). Maintain a neat, orderly and safe working environment. Conducts quality checks to ensure products meet all specifications. Inputs pertinent data into the SAP system. Skills/ Requirements Must possess a High School Diploma or GED. Ability to read and interpret a tape measure. Must be forklift certified. 2+ years of machine operation experience. Basic reading, writing, and math skills. Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and call-in with little notice. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
