Job Description
Packaging Operator - Billings, MT
No recruiters or unsolicited agency referrals please. Wyo-Ben Pet is a new division of Wyo-Ben Inc. where we focus on the packaging of clumping cat litter. Wyo-Ben Pet's new facility uses state-of-the-art equipment and offers a clean and safe work environment for employees which enables a critical focus on high quality finished products. Full-Time Wyo-Ben is seeking a Packaging Operator to help package and prepare products for shipment while supporting our commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on, production role with on-the-job training provided.
Job Duties:
Fill bags to designated weights using manual or automated equipment
Stack and palletize filled bags in an orderly configuration
Shrink-wrap finished pallets for shipment
Operate forklifts to move products and materials
Cross-train on multiple machines and work stations
Follow safety rules, standard operating procedures, and quality specifications
Maintain accurate production counts and material usage
Keep work areas clean, safe, and clutter-free
Communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers
Support Wyo-Ben's Quality Management System and Continuous Improvement efforts
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Ability to read, write, and perform basic math
No prior experience required - training provided
Forklift experience preferred or willingness to learn
Basic problem-solving and multitasking skills
Strong attention to detail and quality
Reliable, deadline‑oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision
Positive attitude and respectful teamwork skills
Physical & Work Requirements:
- Stand, walk, bend, and climb for 8-10 hours per shift, including catwalks
- Regularly lift up to 50 lbs; occasional team lifts up to 100 lbs
- Work around moving machinery and mobile equipment
- Exposure to dust, fragrance noise, and temperature variations
- Ability to work flexible schedules and various shifts
- Compliance with all safety and PPE requirements
