Job Description

Machine Operator - 1st Shift (1099 Independent Contractor, to permanent)
Location:
Archdale, NC Shift:
1st Shift | Mon-Thurs 6:00am-4:30pm |
OT Possible Fridays Pay:
$18/hr Offer of employment is contingent upon successfully completing standard onboarding steps ( background check, drug test, and ability to meet overtime requirements) .
Requirements:
Must have Fabrication/Metal Shop machine experience Ability to read & interpret drawings/BOMs Experience with waterjet , CNC laser , presses , saws , sanders , etc. Strong math & geometry skills Ability to use hand, electric, and pneumatic tools Familiarity with measuring instruments Ability to follow written work instructions in English High attention to detail, accuracy, and quality Computer skills required Mechanical inclination Strong time management and sense of urgency Willingness to work overtime when needed Must be willing to wear company‑provided uniforms Must meet attendance & performance expectations Physical ability to lift 30 lbs unassisted and stand/sit for extended periods Machinery experience desired: Milling Machine (Bridgeport) Waterjet Various Saws (band, horizontal) Brake Press Drill Press CNC Machines Salvagnini laser experience preferred About the Opportunity We're seeking a motivated Machine Operator to join our team as a 1099 Independent Contractor with the right to hire based on performance. If you thrive in a fast‑paced fabrication environment and love working with precision machinery, this role is built for you. What You'll Do Operate the waterjet as your primary machine Use waterjet software to create or modify 2D drawings Pull correct parts per BOM/Drawing Assemble or fabricate orders using proper tools and specifications Set up and run presses, sanders, saws , and other shop equipment Maintain high levels of quality, efficiency, and accuracy Perform required quality audits and checks throughout production Set up, program, and operate CNC laser cutting machines Work independently and as part of a team to meet production goals Physical Expectations Ability to stand or sit for extended periods Lift up to 30 lbs unassisted (more with assistance)
Pay:
$18.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
