Job Summary National Pipe & Plastics, one of the largest PVC pipe producers in North America, is currently seeking an Extruder Operator. The Extruder Worker maintains maximum production rates, minimizes overweight and rejects, trains new employees, and assists the supervisor to oversee shift operation. Job Responsibilities Check daily production schedule and count-sheets in the office for any special instructions or changes Check and record machine speeds, regrind silo levels, and all other pertinent information on logs provided Check color barrels and hoppers so they do not go empty Make proper adjustments on extruders and associated equipment if necessary Frequent monitoring of extruder - back pressure, amps, screw and feeder speeds - so that limits are not exceeded Frequent monitoring of extruder heats zones and vacuum at vent Check product appearance and make adjustments as necessary Assist all machine tenders in solving any unusual problems and producing a quality product Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed Job Requirements High School diploma or GED Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors, and colleagues Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
