Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Plastic Extrusion Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining plastic extrusion machinery to produce high-quality plastic profiles and sheets. Your expertise will ensure efficient production processes, adherence to safety protocols, and consistent product quality. Duties Set up, operate, and monitor plastic extrusion machines to produce specified profiles and sheets according to production schedules. Conduct regular quality inspections using precision measurement instruments and dimensional measurements to ensure products meet specifications. Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments on extrusion equipment, including robotic systems, CNC lathe, press brake machines, and CNC machinery. Handle materials safely using hand tools, forklifts, and materials handling equipment while adhering to safety protocols at all times. Document production data, machine performance logs, and quality control reports accurately for process optimization. Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot industrial equipment issues and implement process improvements. Assist in assembly processes when required, ensuring materials are correctly prepared for downstream manufacturing steps. Requirements Proven experience in plastics extrusion or plastics production environment with hands-on knowledge of plastics blow molding or injection molding is highly desirable. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot industrial equipment including robotic systems, CNC lathes, press brake machines, and other machining tools. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for machine automation control. Ability to perform precision measurement in machining using measurement (quality control) tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments. Experience operating forklifts and warehouse equipment for materials handling within a manufacturing setting. Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and quality inspections. Knowledge of safety protocols related to manufacturing environments and industrial equipment troubleshooting. Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to engineering troubleshooting issues that may arise during production. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
