Role:
The Saw Operator and Contour Specialist plays a critical role in the manufacturing and production process by accurately and efficiently operating saw machinery to cut raw materials according to specified dimensions and quality standards. This position requires a keen eye for detail to ensure precision in measurements and cuts, directly impacting the quality of the final product. The Saw Operator and Contour Specialist is responsible for maintaining the saw equipment, performing routine inspections, and troubleshooting minor mechanical issues to minimize downtime. Safety is paramount in this role, as the operator must adhere to strict safety protocols to protect themselves and their coworkers. Ultimately, the Saw Operator and Contour Specialistcontributes to the smooth operation of the production line, supporting overall company productivity and customer satisfaction.Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience operating saw machinery or similar equipment in a manufacturing or production environment. Basic understanding of measurement tools such as tape measures, calipers, and squares. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including templates and work orders. Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols. Familiarity with safety protocols and the ability to maintain a safe working environment. Ability to work with a variety of saws. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Responsibilities:
Set up and operate various types of saws, including band saws and contour machine to cut materials such foam and latex according to job specifications. Read and interpret templates and work orders, and cutting instructions to determine the correct dimensions and angles for each cut. Perform routine maintenance on saw equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing blades or parts as needed to ensure optimal performance. Inspect finished pieces for accuracy and quality, making adjustments to the saw settings as necessary to meet production standards. Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain a safe working environment.Skills:
The Saw Operator and Contour Specialist utilizes precise measurement and cutting skills daily to ensure materials are prepared accurately for production. Attention to detail is essential when interpreting work orders to achieve the exact specifications required. Mechanical aptitude is applied when performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting equipment issues to maintain continuous operation.
