Job Description:
This role is responsible for effective packaging of product, preparing it for shipment to Grain Craft customers. Depending on the assigned tasks within the scope of the role, employee will operate various equipment, maintain proper bag weights, bag closure record keeping of all data and sampling of products, all of which is critical to maintain quality and customer satisfaction. The Packaging Operator is job classification P&L Technician and is assigned to 2nd shift 6:00 PM - 2:30 AM and paid $26.08 per hour (plus shift differential).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Will need to train and qualify to perform the following job duties: Operates Palletizers, Fork Trucks and other equipment associated with bag loading. Maintains a clean and orderly work area. Prepare vehicles for loading, loads and performs final coopering and sealing of those vehicles. Assumes responsibility for proper fork truck operation and daily maintenance. Other duties as needed to enhance the overall operation.
Qualifications Required:
Ability to operate forklift and achieve Bunge mobile equipment training and qualification and maintain qualification thereafter. Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with co-workers, customer, and leadership is required. Ability to read, write and perform basic math for business-critical record keeping and compliance is required.
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED, although preferred is not required. Need to have the capability to work in a team environment and maintain positive working relationships with other colleagues. Able to work a flexible work schedule and overtime when needed. Performs work in a manner that is in compliance with all policies and GMP rules. Reports any conditions that may put product quality at risk. Performs work in a safety conscious manner that is in compliance with all policies and procedures. Reports any conditions that pose a safety risk to personnel and/or property.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT
Physically able to work outside, climb ladders and lift 100 lbs., tolerate dust and high or low temperature. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly Frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, and kneeling Comfortable working at heights and on ladders or scaffolding Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for operating tools and machinery Tolerance for noisy, dusty, or hot/cold environments Ability to wear required PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, ear protection, and respirators Visual acuity and hearing sufficient to identify mechanical or safety issues Stamina to work 12-hour shifts or rotating schedules as needed This position is contingent upon successfully passing Grain Craft's background screening, drug-screening and physical (if applicable).
