DEPARTMENT/POSITION
EMT or Specialty Machine Operator
SCHEDULE 40
hour night shift (7pm-7am) schedule encompassing 3 to 4 days a week. Alternating weekends (Friday through Sunday) Training will be during day shift hours.
COMPENSATION
Pay starts at $24.12/hour and increases to $34.62/hour after training is completed. Night shift differential is $2.81/hour
Job Summary EMT:
o The EMT Machine Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating the EMT coating machines to produce medical tubing and tubing products. The EMT Mach Op will ensure that products meet customer expectation and work in an efficient manner. The EMT Operator reports to the EMT Supervisor.
Specialty:
Run, operate, and maintain production on multiple positions of assigned banks of Elektrisola-built, computer process-controlled, high-speed wire enameling machines to produce spools of enameled wire in various sizes used in the automotive, appliance, small motor, and medical technologies industries.
This includes:
maintaining run parameters using a provided recipe; investigating downed positions then troubleshoot and adjust using specifications, procedures, and guidelines to get these positions back up and running; identify and tag non-conforming product; and label, pack, and prepare product for shipment.
Job Duties/ Responsibilities:
EMT:
o Setup coating machines for tubing products o Mixing enamels and solvents o Perform quality checks to verify setup o Work in a safe and efficient manner o Complete paperwork and data entry for production and inventory control o Follow company policy and work instructions both written and verbal. o Other duties as assigned.
Specialty:
o Perform necessary pre-operation checks to ensure proper equipment startup and operation. o Conduct routine preventive maintenance of the machine. o Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials. o Identify non-conforming product and perform immediate corrective action; tag and segregate all and potential non-conforming product for investigation. o In time, develop expert level understanding of production process and maintenance of all machine components and raw materials to include source spool/wire, ovens, pulleys, application systems, wicks, plastic spools and canisters. o Perform additional duties assigned by dept management. Required Skills/Abilities o Able to see and feel small defects in coated mandrel. o Demonstrates a positive attitude towards day-to-day tasks. o Understanding of product requirements and ability to recognize out of spec conditions. o Ability to make sound decisions when necessary. o Excellent attention to detail and good organizational skills. o Confidence to work independently and also as part of a team. o Ability to carefully follow instructions. o Ability to work in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment o Initiative to investigate and troubleshoot machine or spooling issues using problem-solving skills and attention to detail. o Confidence to work independently and also as part of a team, and to make sound decisions when necessary. Physical Requirements/ Job Environment o Safety eyewear and gloves required when handling chemicals. o Able to climb stairs to top of enameling ovens. o Ability to visually detect cosmetic flaws and color defects using visual aids as guidance. o Frequently move product weighing up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 45 pounds manually or mechanically. o Push wheeled carts with finished product with total weight up to and in excess of 1000 pounds. o Work in a factory environment that is not temperature controlled and can get very hot between machines during the summer months. o Safety eyewear required when running machines. Preferred Education and Experience o High School Diploma or equivalent. o Experience in a manufacturing environment. o Familiar with ISO standards. Other Requirements Must pass a pre-employment physical and criminal background check
