Masis Staffing Solutions is looking to hire a Batch Maker for a local manufacturing bakery in Manchester, NH. The Batch Maker plays a key role in our manufacturing process by accurately following product formulas and directions to produce batches ready for packaging in the Wet or Bakery department. This entry-level position involves organizing materials and ingredients, handling and measuring materials, operating equipment, and ensuring product quality according to food manufacturing standards.
Essential Functions:
- Follow precise formula instructions to produce high-quality products, using iPads and scanners throughout the batch-making process.
- Understand machine operation, ingredient sequencing, and identification of minor ingredients. Set up equipment required for batch processing.
- Fill blenders with pre-measured materials, managing weights up to 4,000 lbs. per batch (individual bags weighing 50 lbs. or less).
- Produce multiple batches per day, depending on the production line requirements.
- Monitor the quality of raw materials, focusing on color, consistency, aroma, and texture, and report any substandard materials to the group leader or supervisor.
- Monitor the quality of packaging and equipment, and report any issues to the group leader and supervisor.
- Complete all related paperwork accurately and thoroughly.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to all safety rules and procedures, including PPE.
Competencies:
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to read and follow instructions accurately.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Proficiency in operating material handling equipment, such as electric pallet jacks or manual hand jacks.
Work Environment:
- Work performed on the manufacturing floor, with exposure to machinery noise and varying temperatures.
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged standing and walking on concrete floors.
- Frequent climbing steps, bending, lifting, and twisting.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
