$36/hour (overtime availability on Fridays & Saturdays) Job Description The Packaging Operator sets up, operates, and maintains vial filling machines, fabrication equipment, and secondary packaging machinery in a regulated pharmaceutical environment. This role ensures products are packaged accurately and safely in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), while maintaining detailed documentation and collaborating closely with production and quality teams. Responsibilities Oper ate vial filling machines, fabrication machines, and secondary packaging equipment, including labeling systems and semi-automatic packaging machinery, in accordance with established procedures. Clean, sanitize, and set up manufacturing and packaging equipment before, during, and after production runs to meet GMP and safety standards. Record all required information accurately in logbooks, batch records, and other production documentation in a timely and compliant manner. Complete downtime logs accurately and contemporaneously, documenting causes of downtime and actions taken. Meet established scrap rate goals by following procedures, monitoring equipment, and promptly addressing issues that may impact yield or quality. Ensure all reconciled labeling materials, including pouch stock, inserts, shipper labels, and waste, are properly accounted for and documented. Apply knowledge of all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and follow them consistently during all packaging operations. Inspect products and packaging components visually to identify defects, labeling errors, or nonconformances and escalate issues as required. Use basic tools and equipment safely to perform adjustments, minor maintenance, and setup activities on packaging lines. Collaborate with team members and support functions to maintain a safe, efficient, and compliant packaging line. Essential Skills Experience operating vial filling machines, fabrication machines, and secondary packaging equipment, including labeling and semi-automatic packaging systems. Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and their application in a pharmaceutical production environment. Ability to gown for manufacturing and work in a cleanroom or controlled environment. Basic reading, writing, and verbal communication skills to follow instructions and complete documentation. Basic use of tools and equipment for line setup and minor adjustments. Ability to follow SOPs and production instructions consistently and accurately. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working on pharmaceutical packaging lines in a cleanroom or controlled environment. Familiarity with labeling operations, including pouch stock, inserts, and shipper labels. Comfort working on general production and filling lines in a regulated environment. Ability to work effectively on a night shift schedule and maintain consistent performance. Willingness to learn and apply new SOPs, equipment procedures, and safety practices as needed. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Caldwell, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
