In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining surface mount technology (SMT) pick and place machines used in electronics assembly. Your expertise will ensure precise placement of electronic components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs), supporting high-quality manufacturing processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced equipment, contribute to innovative electronics projects, and develop your skills in a fast-paced production environment. Duties Set up, operate, and monitor SMT production equipment (pick-and-place, stencil printer, reflow oven, AOI) Load and verify component reels/feeders against BOM and work orders Program and adjust pick-and-place machine settings for new and existing jobs Change over lines between jobs efficiently to minimize downtime Verify solder paste application and stencil alignment before production runs Monitor reflow oven temperature profiles and adjust as needed Perform first-article inspection and in-process quality checks Conduct visual and AOI inspection of assembled boards for defects (misalignment, tombstoning, insufficient solder, bridging, etc.) Troubleshoot placement errors, misprints, and machine faults in real time Identify and report component shortages, feeder issues, or program discrepancies Perform routine machine maintenance, calibration, and cleaning Track and manage component inventory usage at the line level Maintain accurate production records, traceability logs, and quality documentation Communicate production status, delays, and issues to shift supervisor/team lead Support engineering with new product introduction (NPI) setups and test runs Follow
