POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of assigned production equipment while ensuring all work is performed in accordance with company policies, safety standards, quality requirements, and established production procedures. The Machine Operator is accountable to the Production Supervisor and may provide day-to-day guidance, training, and direction to employees assigned to their machine to ensure productivity, quality, and safety expectations are met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Machine Operation & Production Safely operate and set up assigned production equipment in accordance with company procedures. Maximize machine efficiency while meeting production schedules and output goals. Perform machine adjustments as needed to maintain productivity and product quality. Cross-train on additional equipment as required. Quality Control Monitor production throughout each run to ensure products meet customer specifications and company quality standards. Inspect product quality, perform setup verifications, make necessary adjustments, and collect required quality samples. Complete all required production, quality, and operational documentation accurately and on time. Safety, Equipment & Housekeeping Follow all company safety policies and promote safe work practices. Perform routine equipment inspections, identify maintenance needs, and report repairs promptly. Maintain assigned machinery and work area in a clean, organized, and safe condition. Teamwork & Communication Maintain effective communication with the Production Supervisor and team members to ensure efficient workflow. Provide day-to-day guidance and training to employees assigned to the machine. Support production goals through collaboration and perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED. Prior work experience in the corrugated industry, plus. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to read and follow written instructions and production documents. Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
