Full Job Description Extruder Operator Pay:
$20-$23 per hour, based on experience

Thursday-Saturday, 5:40 PM-6:00 AM Job Summary We are hiring an experienced Extruder Operator to join a specialty plastics manufacturing team in North Las Vegas. This is a hands-on manufacturing position responsible for preparing materials, setting up and operating extrusion equipment, monitoring production runs, maintaining equipment cleanliness, and ensuring products meet quality standards. The ideal candidate has experience in plastic extrusion, thermoplastics, plastics manufacturing, injection molding, blow molding, or a similar manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to follow detailed production instructions are important for success in this role. Responsibilities Read and follow production orders, work instructions, and manufacturing requirements Review bills of materials and determine the materials needed for each production run Prepare and stage raw materials for production, including drying and pre-blending materials as required Prepare extrusion machinery and related upstream and downstream equipment for production Thoroughly clean equipment according to work instructions and production requirements Set extruder operating parameters according to established setup specifications Prepare and maintain production run sheets and required production records Monitor extrusion processes throughout the production run Adjust operating parameters as needed to maintain efficient machine performance and product quality Identify and respond to production issues or unsafe operating conditions Maintain a clean and organized production area Regularly remove manufacturing debris and residue from floors, machinery, and work surfaces Follow all safety procedures and immediately address unsafe conditions Follow ISO requirements and established manufacturing procedures Communicate production, equipment, safety, or workplace concerns to the Production Supervisor Work effectively as part of a team to meet production and customer requirements Perform other production duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent OR 1-3 years of related manufacturing experience, training, or a combination of education and experience Previous experience with plastic extrusion, thermoplastics, plastics manufacturing, injection molding, blow molding, or similar processes strongly preferred Ability to read and follow safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and SDS sheets Ability to read and follow written work instructions Basic computer skills and ability to learn machine and batching software Basic math skills, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals Ability to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot production issues Ability to work effectively in a team environment No certifications or licenses required Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle materials and equipment Ability to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, talk, and hear Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds Ability to perform work requiring close and color vision Work Environment Manufacturing environment involving plastic compounds and extrusion equipment Regular exposure to fumes or airborne particles Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration Moderate noise levels Required to follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements IND2
