Machine Operator Location:
USA Parkway, Nevada Position Summary The Machine Operator is responsible for safely operating, monitoring, and maintaining production equipment used in the fabrication and processing of reinforcing steel (rebar). This position ensures that customer specifications, quality standards, and production schedules are met while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate rebar fabrication equipment, including cutting, bending, shearing, and processing machines. Read and interpret production tickets, work orders, and fabrication drawings. Set up machines according to production specifications and perform necessary adjustments. Monitor machine performance and inspect finished products to ensure quality requirements are met. Perform routine equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance. Troubleshoot operational issues and report equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel. Accurately measure and verify dimensions of fabricated products using appropriate tools. Load and unload raw materials and finished products using forklifts, overhead cranes, or other material-handling equipment as authorized. Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards. Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and environmental regulations. Assist with inventory control and material tracking as needed. Support team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. Previous manufacturing, production, machine operation, or industrial experience. Ability to read measuring devices and perform basic mathematical calculations. Ability to read and understand work instructions and production documentation. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work safely in a fast-paced industrial environment. Preferred Experience in steel fabrication, rebar manufacturing, or metals processing. Forklift and/or overhead crane experience. Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Experience working with automated manufacturing equipment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly and more with assistance. Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and climbing. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, heat, cold, and moving equipment. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, and high-visibility clothing.
