Job Description
Job Overview
The Whey Operator is responsible for assisting the Whey Evaporator and Dryer Operator in the whey processing operation.
Job Responsibilities
- Operate and clean the AMVR Evaporator in automatic and manual modes.
- Operate and clean the TFD and MSD spray dryers.
- Perform lab work as required.
- Recognize deficiencies in product.
- Operate equipment in preparation for cream shipments.
- Troubleshoot and solve any productions problem during operation.
- Keep all records accurate and up to date.
- Keep equipment and plant in condition that will meet all regulatory agency requirements.
- All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures.
- All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager. The pay for this position is $25.80/hr - $26.45/hr. All offers will be based on a candidate's skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees and certifications, and internal equity. This range is specific to New York and may not be applicable to other locations. Hours 4:00 PM - 4:00 AMRequired Education and Experience
- Ability to adapt to change quickly.
- Ability to understand the basic operation of evaporator and dryer and be capable of making process adjustments to them.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.
- Ability to frequently handle material from floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder and pushing/pulling/carrying.
- Product weight: up to 50 lbs.
- Repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment with average temperature of 50-60 degrees F.
