Description Position Summary:
The Extrusion Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring extrusion press used in the production of extruded metal products. This role ensures extrusion processes meet customer specifications for quality, size, and finish. The operator will work collaboratively with other team members to achieve production goals while maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work environment. Additionally, all employees must support and live the company values: Do the right thing, Respect one another, Be positive, and Please our customer in all aspects of the job.Essential Job Duties:
- Set up, operate, and monitor extrusion press machine to produce extruded metal parts to required specifications.
- Load billets into the extrusion press and ensure proper alignment and setup. Ensure appropriate guideline for product is selected for extrusion.
- Monitor extrusion speeds, temperatures, pressures, and other process parameters.
- Inspect extruded products for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and quality requirements using measuring tools.
- Adjust machine controls to correct deviations and maintain consistent output.
- Keep materials marked and segregated to ensure there is no cross contamination of the alloys.
- Perform saw cutting, trimming, or finishing of extruded products as required.
- Operate cranes, forklifts, and other equipment to handle billets, dies, and finished products.
- Record production data, material usage, and inspection results in work orders or ERP systems.
- Clean and maintain extrusion equipment, dies, and work areas to ensure efficient operation.
- Follow all company safety procedures and support a culture of workplace safety.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist with die setup, maintenance, and tooling changes.
- Participate in troubleshooting and corrective actions to resolve process issues.

(Quality) andISO 14001
(Environmental Health & Safety) management system processes.- Provide feedback for continuous improvement in extrusion processes and efficiency.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in extrusion press operation or heavy machine operation in a metals manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand technical instructions.
- Proficient with measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Ability to interpret production drawings, work orders, and specifications.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills with a practical, hands-on approach to problem solving.
Physical Requirements/Safety:
- Ability to work in hot and noisy industrial environments.
- Must be able to stand, bend, and move for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. safely.
- Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
