JOB DESCRIPTION ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform hands-on packing duties, including hand-packing, boxing, bagging, sealing, labeling, and preparing finished confectionery products for shipment and retail sale Inspect packaged products for accuracy, quality, and appearance Coordinate daily packaging line schedules to meet production targets and customer order deadlines Monitor packaging material inventory (boxes, bags, labels, film, cartons) and coordinate timely reordering with procurement Ensure packaging lines are set up correctly with the right materials, labels, and specifications for each product run Partner with Production, Process, and Warehouse teams to ensure smooth product flow from production to shipment Verify that packaging meets company quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements (FDA, allergen labeling, etc.) Train and support packaging line associates on procedures, equipment use, and safety protocols Enter accurate documentation, including batch records, packaging logs, and checklists Ensure compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), food safety, and workplace safety standards Identify opportunities for process improvements to reduce waste and increase packaging efficiency
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent 2+ years of experience in a packaging, production, or manufacturing coordination role (food manufacturing preferred) Strong organizational and multitasking skills Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and inventory/ERP systems Ability to read and interpret packaging specifications and work orders Strong communication skills for coordinating across department Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive hand-packing tasks throughout shifts Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 20 lbs regularly Willingness to wear required PPE and follow food safety hygiene protocols
PREFERRED SKILLS
Experience in confectionery, food, or beverage manufacturing Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, and food safety compliance standards Experience with packaging equipment Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
