Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Pit Loader Operator to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will operate heavy machinery and loaders to efficiently move materials, assist with excavation and grading tasks, and support overall site operations. Responsibilities Operate loaders, excavators, backhoes, and water trucks to load, transport, and position construction materials on-site Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks on all heavy equipment in accordance with equipment safety procedures and federal construction safety regulations Assist with excavation, construction grading, utility locating, and utility work to prepare sites for further development Follow construction site safety regulations diligently, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols and procedures Support construction utility work by managing material movement and coordinating with other team members for efficient workflow Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and safety inspections Collaborate with team members to execute construction projects efficiently while adhering to project timelines and safety standards Skills Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, backhoes, water trucks, and Caterpillar machinery Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and performing basic maintenance on construction machinery Skilled in commercial truck driving and transportation of materials within construction sites Knowledge of construction utility work including utility locating techniques and excavation procedures Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures Ability to perform construction grading accurately using heavy machinery Construction site experience with a focus on utility work, excavation, and equipment operation Valid commercial driving license with experience in heavy vehicle operation Excellent understanding of safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and construction environments Join our team as a Pit Loader Operator if you're passionate about building projects safely while advancing your skills in heavy equipment operation.
