Position Summary The Set-Up Technician prepares, adjusts, and verifies production equipment for manufacturing jobs at the Bolivar plant. This role selects and installs the correct tooling and fixtures, confirms materials and lot control, completes required set-up and quality documentation, and verifies product conformance before production begins. The position also supports troubleshooting, safe equipment operation, 5S, and continuous improvement. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform initial machine and production-equipment set-ups using the proper tooling, fixturing, machinery, and job requirements. Adjust equipment as needed and verify the set-up is capable of producing conforming product before releasing the job to production. Review and interpret specifications, production schedules, job orders, work instructions, and related set-up requirements. Coordinate and control materials associated with each job, including lot control and material movement; operate a tow motor/forklift when trained and authorized. Complete and maintain accurate production, set-up, inspection, quality, and other required records in accordance with company procedures. Perform required quality checks and inspections and document results; identify and communicate nonconforming conditions promptly. Follow applicable Quality and Manufacturing policies, procedures, and work instructions. Follow all safety requirements during set-up and equipment operation, including machine guarding, pre-use inspection, emergency-stop awareness, lockout/tagout requirements as applicable, and required personal protective equipment. Inspect machines, tooling, fixtures, and related equipment for proper condition and function; report problems to the Manufacturing Lead and/or Production Supervisor. Troubleshoot routine machine, tooling, and set-up issues and assist operators and other employees in resolving production problems. Coordinate set-up activities with the Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Lead, Quality, Maintenance, and other departments as needed to support production priorities. Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance, product quality, workplace conditions, productivity, and efficiency. Periodically perform Manufacturing Lead or Operator duties when assigned, including operating equipment to produce parts. Maintain an organized work area and actively support 5S and continuous-improvement activities. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED and at least one year of related manufacturing, machine set-up, tooling, or production experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and understand work instructions, job orders, specifications, short correspondence, and production documentation. Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, leads, operators, Quality, Maintenance, and other employees. Working knowledge of basic shop math, including whole numbers, fractions, decimals, rates, ratios, and percentages. Ability to use sound judgment to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions and solve routine set-up and production problems. Ability to perform basic product inspections and accurately complete required records. Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment when properly trained and authorized. Physical Demands While performing this job, the employee regularly stands, walks, and uses hands to handle or control tools, parts, and equipment; frequently reaches with hands and arms; and occasionally stoops, kneels, crouches, crawls, talks, or hears. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required. Work Environment Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing environment near moving mechanical equipment. The employee may occasionally be exposed to outdoor weather, wet or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, heat, and vibration. The noise level is typically moderate. Required safety procedures and personal protective equipment must be followed at all times.

Pay:

$17.50 - $25.50 per hour
