This Long-term Contract position focuses on improving packaging performance through testing, trial execution, prototype evaluation, technical documentation, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will help assess packaging materials and components, capture meaningful data, and contribute to practical solutions that enhance quality, efficiency, and product readiness.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate packaging trials at plant locations by preparing materials, assisting with setup, recording performance data, and summarizing outcomes. Evaluate packaging components across primary, secondary, and transport formats to confirm they align with operational and quality expectations. Perform hands-on lab and functional assessments of materials and packaging parts, then organize findings into clear technical reports. Create, revise, and maintain technical documents such as packaging specifications, work instructions, test procedures, and standards. Partner with engineering teams to sustain packaging documentation systems and ensure specifications remain accurate and accessible. Support prototype builds and sample reviews for initiatives tied to research and development, marketing needs, manufacturing goals, and ongoing process improvement efforts. Assist with qualification of new packaging materials and components by gathering technical details, coordinating sample activity, and documenting requirements. Work alongside packaging engineers during implementation of updated materials, packaging formats, and production-related process changes. Share test observations, trial results, and recommendations with project stakeholders in a concise and actionable manner. Maintain well-organized records for samples, evaluations, trial documentation, and other technical reference materials. Experience supporting process improvement, packaging evaluation, testing, or re-engineering activities in a manufacturing or engineering environment. Ability to develop and interpret process maps, technical documentation, and test records with strong attention to detail. Familiarity with mechanical concepts and equipment-related testing in support of production or packaging operations. Working knowledge of quality practices, data collection methods, and structured troubleshooting techniques. Exposure to research and development collaboration, prototype review, or new component qualification is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking results, organizing data, and supporting technical analysis. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly to cross-functional teams. Ability to manage multiple assignments, maintain accurate documentation, and work effectively in a hands-on environment.
