Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Packaging Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role involves operating packaging machinery, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, familiarity with manufacturing processes, and experience working in regulated environments such as FDA-regulated facilities. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the production of high-quality products in a fast-paced environment. Required High School Diploma or GED. Ability to follow written standard operating procedures, production instructions, safety requirements, and sanitation procedures accurately. Ability to operate automated manufacturing or packaging equipment after training and respond appropriately to machine alarms and operating conditions. Ability to complete production, quality, and traceability records accurately and legibly. Ability to work in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment and adapt to changing production needs. Responsibilities Operate packaging machinery and equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) Monitor production lines to ensure proper functioning and quality standards are met Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting of equipment, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) Follow FDA regulations, CGMP guidelines, and safety protocols during all operations Assist with assembly, packaging, and labeling of products as required Maintain cleanliness and organization of the packaging area, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Use hand tools and mechanical knowledge to perform minor repairs or adjustments on equipment Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely when necessary Document production activities accurately and report any issues promptly Skills Strong understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation systems Knowledge of FDA regulations, CGMP standards, and industry best practices for food manufacturing Experience with packaging processes within a manufacturing environment Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot machinery using hand tools Familiarity with warehouse operations, including forklift operation and inventory handling Ability to perform assembly tasks efficiently and accurately Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
