Job Description:
Multi-Skilled Machine Operator Position Overview:
We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our production team. This role is designed for a technical "jack-of-all-trades" capable of supporting various departments, including fabrication, assembly, and finishing. The ideal candidate has a foundational understanding of metal fabrication machinery and the mechanical aptitude to pivot between different workstations based on production needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabrication & Machining:
Set up and operate CNC Machines, Laser Cutting systems, and Press Brakes to produce precision parts according to blueprints and technical drawings.
Mechanical Assembly:
Use hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic equipment to assemble components into finished products, ensuring all parts meet quality specifications.
Powder Coating:
Prepare surfaces for coating, apply powder paint using electrostatic spray guns, and manage the curing process in industrial ovens.
Maintenance & Quality:
Perform routine machine maintenance and utilize precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to conduct first-piece and in-process inspections.
Material Handling:
Load and unload raw materials (sheet metal, bars, etc.) and finished goods, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Required Qualifications:
Technical Versatility:
Proven experience operating at least two of the following: CNC Mills/Lathes, Fiber Lasers, or Hydraulic Press Brakes.
Blueprint Reading:
Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, weld symbols, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Mechanical Aptitude:
Strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a fast-paced industrial environment. Attention to
Detail:
A commitment to precision and safety, ensuring all parts are produced with minimal waste and zero defects.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of metallurgy and material properties. Forklift certification. Previous experience in a job shop or contract manufacturing environment. #plresources
