Machine Operator (2nd Shift) ($19-23/hr.) Job Description This Machine Operator role supports the manufacturing of filter products and related components on 2nd shift. You will work in a hands-on production environment operating and assisting with various machines, assembling and packaging products, performing quality checks, and supporting multiple departments as needed. The position offers the opportunity to train on 1st shift initially and then transition to a stable 2nd shift schedule. We are looking for individuals to start as soon as possible. We offer weekly pay with overtime paying time and a half. Apply Today! Responsibilities Work in the filters department to assemble filters and support daily production needs. Perform repetitive production tasks that require strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail. Assist in other departments, including the press operator area, when not performing filter assembly. Set up and prepare equipment, tools, and materials for daily production activities. Operate and assist with machines such as press machines, vertical presses, slitters, and expanders. Monitor equipment performance, identify minor issues, and perform basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime. Follow work orders, blueprints, and standard operating procedures to complete tasks accurately and efficiently. Conduct in-process quality checks to ensure products meet specifications and standards. Use micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools to verify product dimensions and tolerances. Process mesh fabric into finished product, including slitting, stapling, and related operations. Work with 10-plate steel and wire mesh while following all safety procedures. Utilize basic math skills to perform measurements and verify material and product dimensions. Remove rolls and place rolls into machines safely and efficiently. Assist in performing machine setups and changeovers to support different production runs. Pack finished filters and prepare products for shipping as they come off automated equipment. Stage orders and assist in shipping activities as needed. Document production data, materials used, and completed work accurately as required. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company standards. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding production status, issues, and improvement opportunities. Operate a forklift if trained and experienced, following all safety guidelines. Consistently follow work instructions, quality procedures, and safety policies throughout all tasks. Essential Skills Previous machine operator experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis. Experience using hand tools safely and effectively. Ability to read and follow work instructions, standard operating procedures, and related documentation. Experience performing documentation and quality checks in a production setting. Strong hand-eye coordination for repetitive assembly and handling tasks. Basic math skills for measuring and verifying dimensions. Ability to work with micrometers, calipers, and other basic measuring tools or willingness to learn quickly. Willingness and ability to work 2nd shift (2:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m., Monday-Thursday) after training. Reliability and consistency in attendance and punctuality. Ability to work safely around machinery, steel plate, and wire mesh materials. Comfort working in a dusty, graphite-based production environment with appropriate protective equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Steel toe boots required as part of standard safety attire. Forklift operating experience is a plus and may be used if already trained. Experience with press machines, slitters, expanders, or similar production equipment is beneficial. Experience in general production, assembly, packaging, or machine setup is highly valued. Comfort working with automated machinery and supporting automated production lines. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Work Environment This role is based in a clean, well-maintained manufacturing facility that operates in a graphite production environment, which can be dusty but has good airflow and ventilation. You will work primarily on 2nd shift from 2:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday, after completing training on 1st shift from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The work involves standing for most of the shift, performing repetitive tasks, and handling materials such as 10-plate steel and wire mesh. You will work with automated filter assembly equipment, press machines, vertical presses, slitters, expanders, and measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and cleanliness, and requires steel toe boots and adherence to standard safety practices. Forklifts and other material-handling equipment may be used by trained and experienced personnel.
