Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Food Production/Packaging Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role involves operating and maintaining packaging equipment, ensuring product quality, and adhering to strict safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will play a vital part in delivering high-quality food products efficiently and safely. Duties Operate packaging machinery and industrial equipment following standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent product quality. Interpret production documents, including batch records and work instructions, to accurately execute packaging tasks. Perform mechanical troubleshooting on equipment to resolve issues promptly, minimizing downtime. Handle materials safely and efficiently, utilizing appropriate material handling equipment such as forklifts when necessary. Conduct quality checks throughout the production process to ensure compliance with FDA regulations, CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices), and safety standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the production area, adhering to safety protocol requirements. Assist with assembly tasks related to packaging components and materials. Support warehouse operations through proper storage, inventory management, and movement of raw materials and finished goods. Use hand tools for minor repairs or adjustments on packaging machinery. Follow manufacturing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines diligently. Requirements Experience not required! Prior experience in a manufacturing facility, particularly within food production or packaging environments a plus. Knowledge of packaging equipment operation and basic mechanical troubleshooting skills. Familiarity with FDA regulations, CGMP standards, and GMP compliance in food manufacturing. Ability to interpret production documents accurately and perform basic math calculations related to measurements and quantities. Experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts is preferred; certification is a plus. Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools for maintenance or repairs. Strong understanding of safety standards in production environments, including heavy lifting techniques and safety protocol adherence. Warehouse experience involving inventory management, materials handling, and logistics support. Good communication skills for effective teamwork across departments. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently.
