In this role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of machinery to produce high-quality components and products efficiently and safely. Your expertise in machine operation, technical skills, and commitment to quality will contribute to the success of our manufacturing processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced equipment and develop your skills in a fast-paced, innovative environment. S & G Manufacturing is a metal fabrication and woodworking facility that builds custom and made-to-order furnishings and fixtures for the restaurant, retail and hospitality industries. The Machine Operator will assist other team members by preventing schedule backups and safely, quickly, and accurately forming products.
Duties:
Operate the Amada, Trumpf, LVD press brakes and Trumpf laser to cut/bend stainless and carbon steel parts to be used in the assembly of restaurant equipment. Operate an auto saw to cut steel Other duties as assigned
Work Environment:
Manufacturing shop environment; regular exposure to dust, fumes and machinery
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 6:30 am - 3:00 pm Essential Functions & Responsibilities Regular and punctual attendance. Check equipment for working order and work area for safety. Read work orders, if necessary. Operate computer controls on press brake and laser Perform set ups on press brake (changing dies) and laser Place stainless and carbon steel parts in press brake and laser machines to cut/bend parts. Stack and mark parts, if necessary. Make sure orders are complete. Move completed products to staging area. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent Ability to read English instructions and tape measure 1 - 3 years previous machine operation experience preferred Knowledge of press brake tooling Ability to read shop drawings and prints Set up skills a plus on custom stainless steel work
Physical Requirements:
Employees must regularly lift/push/pull/carry solid surface material or wood weighing 50 pounds. Safety glasses and hearing protection required. Required tools are a combination square, angle finder, tape measure and mallet
