Jamestown Container, One of the largest independent manufacturers of corrugated products and distributor of packaging supplies in the northeastern United States, is looking to add experienced Operator Technicians for their Macedonia, OH location. An Operator Technician at Jamestown Container safely runs, sets up, operates, and cleans-up their machine. This person will be responsible for constructing products according to customer and factory ticket specifications, and maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing their machine. They are required to comply with all safety rules and regulations and will complete quality checks to ensure products conform to the companies' ISO quality standards. This role is designed for mechanically inclined individuals who are interested in developing their skills and growing into a Maintenance Technician position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following: Recognize product specifications on factory tickets. Perform quality checks consistently to comply with the ISO quality plan and make any necessary adjustments when needed. Properly set up, operate, adjust and clean up the machine, counter and gluer according to customer specification. Assist maintenance technicians with equipment repairs and preventative maintenance on production machinery. Support basic mechanical tasks such as replacing belts, lubricating equipment, tightening components, and cleaning machinery. Help inspect equipment and report potential mechanical issues to the maintenance team. Participate in on-the-job training to develop skills necessary to advance to a Maintenance Technician role Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner. Responsible for notifying supervisor of any non-conformities that cannot be self- corrected, or if problems persist. Implement all safety procedures during shift. Comply with all company work instructions, policies, procedures, and safety policies. Adhere to the production schedule. Make recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality and service goals. Reports any unusual scheduling issues to Supervisor. Perform all duties as assigned by management. Maintain a positive work environment by cooperating with management and coworkers.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience operating a machine in a manufacturing or industrial environment Mechanical aptitude or prior experience working with tools, equipment, or machinery. Basic reading and writing skills.

General math skills:

adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, whole numbers and fractions. Must be able to read tape measure Ability to properly read job orders that specify the types of ink, plate and material that should be used for the printing. Able to identify design placement from factory ticket. Able to put order specifications in a company computer. Able to cut material according to client specifications.
