Full Job Description Job Title:
Grinding Set Up and Tech Job Summary:
Sets up and maintains production quality for grinding equipment, such as infeed, Thru feed and Studer machines. Makes mechanical adjustments and is able to diagnose routine machine problems. Learns to operate and repair machines under the guidance of senior personnel. Devise methods to set-up and machine work pieces.
Qualifications:
Requires a minimum of 2 years' grinding experience, preferably in a job shop environment. Understanding of Infeed, Through Feed and Center grinding. Knowledge of ISO and TS standards and systems Candidate must have strong troubleshooting abilities, self-motivated, and able to work unsupervised. Ability to comprehend blueprints and use applicable measuring devices. Good verbal and written communication skills with company personnel as well as outside contractors and technical support. Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively. Continuous Improvement mentality
Essential Job Functions:
1. Load and unload parts for machine operation Check all controls pre check and safety of operation. Operate using foot/hand controls. Load and unload parts using a stand up or sit-down tow motor. Slide items onto skids using tow motor, no lifting. Post Inspection. 2. Set up Machine/Size Parts by use of Micrometers/Equipment. Evaluate job layout and tooling. Set up tables, changes wheel and regulate left and right to size specs. Blueprint Reading. Determine blades to use and set part by measuring and determine diameters. Set program for Operator. Make recommendations to improve actual pieces per hour 3. Complete paperwork. Complete paperwork any record any issues within the equipment operation. Complete hourly checks of equipment using company system. Document results to show actual improvements 4. General Clean Up. Sweep, mop working area. Wipe down machine, tables and remove any oil spots, loose debris. Move items
