Job Description

1st and 2nd Shift Available The Extrusion Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining extrusion machinery to produce high-quality products. This role involves monitoring the extrusion process, adjusting settings, ensuring product specifications are met, and conducting routine maintenance tasks. The Extrusion Machine Operator plays a critical role in maintaining production efficiency, quality standards, and overall safety within the manufacturing facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Set up and operation of extruders and all downline equipment. Includes identification and installation of dies, screens, and breaker plates.
  • Full responsibility for machine operations including reading, interpreting, and analyzing production orders, specifications, and blueprints.
  • Adjust equipment as necessary to maintain quality and maximize efficiency.
  • Distinguish between a mechanical problem and an operator error, and to perform troubleshooting and take corrective measures.
  • Perform work in a safe manner and keep work area clean and safe.
  • Meet or exceed daily production requirements and scrap goals.
  • Maintain flexibility in job assignment including the need to work overtime.
  • Maintain accurate paperwork including production reporting.
  • Assist with the new product development including R&D projects.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be detailed orientated and have excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Detail oriented with a systems and process approach to problem solving
  • Basic math skills and ability to use measurement tools: calipers, gages, comparators, etc.
  • Ability to learn new processes quickly.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalent All job duties will be performed in accordance with all company safety policies. All job duties will be done to ensure that the product is made at the highest quality, the lowest cost, delivered on time and with world-class service.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ESSNTIAL TO PERFORM THE DUTIES OF THE JOB
Capable of lifting 40 lbs. at any one time. Stand for extended periods of time up to 10 hours. Frequently walks, kneels, and stands Frequently communicates with other operators.
Pay:
From $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
