Overview We are seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of machinery used in metal fabrication and machining processes, ensuring high-quality production standards are met. Duties Operate and monitor CNC laser cutting machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and other machining equipment to produce precise metal components. Set up machines by interpreting mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure correct tooling and parameter adjustments. Perform machine tool setup, calibration, and troubleshooting to maintain optimal performance and minimize downtime. Conduct quality inspections using precision measurement instruments and measuring tools to verify dimensions and adherence to specifications. Utilize safety standards in production environments, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety protocols. Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, ensuring safe operation of all machinery including stamping presses, press brakes, forming machines, and welding stations. Assist with metal fabrication tasks such as plasma cutting, electrical discharge machining (EDM), sheet metal forming, and assembly as needed. Document production data accurately and report any machine malfunctions or safety concerns promptly. Qualifications Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as laser cutters, milling machines, lathes, or stamping presses. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical drawings and mechanical blueprints. Familiarity with shop math, basic math skills required for measurement and calculations in manufacturing processes. Knowledge of safety standards related to machine operation and metal fabrication environments. Ability to use hand tools, measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers), and precision measurement techniques. Basic understanding of welding techniques and forming machines is preferred but not mandatory. Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality inspection and measurement accuracy. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
