We're looking for Extrusion Technicians and are open to candidates ranging from developing Operators to experienced Technicians. This role is focused on wire & cable extrusion (high and low temperature materials). For more experienced candidates, this includes establishing processes, troubleshooting in real time, and helping mentor junior team members. For those earlier in their career, it's an opportunity to gain exposure to setup, process control, and continuous improvement in a growing operation. As we scale, you'll also have the chance to contribute to adjacent areas such as QC, receiving inspection, documentation, and general startup execution. Key Responsibilities Set up, run, and troubleshoot wire & cable extrusion lines (primary focus), including startup, changeovers, and process stabilization Setup and run other cable and wire equipment as needed (tapers, braiders, bonders) Dial in and optimize extrusion parameters (temperature profiles, line speed, concentricity, surface quality, etc.) Identify and resolve extrusion-related defects (surface finish, diameter variation, adhesion, etc.) Read and interpret setup sheets, work instructions, and product drawings Help develop and refine setup sheets, process documentation, and standard work for new and existing products Perform in-process inspection and support receiving and incoming material inspection as needed Monitor and document process data, quality checks, and equipment performance Perform basic preventative maintenance and support troubleshooting across equipment Train and mentor junior technicians/operators on extrusion setup, process control, and best practices Contribute to broader business needs (materials staging, inventory support, process development, etc.) as required Qualifications Demonstrated knowledge of extrusion fundamentals and ability to operate extrusion lines. Temperature profile creation and control Material behavior (e.g., fluoropolymers, thermoplastics, elastomers) Tooling, dies, and process tuning Setup and process ownership experience is preferred Mechanical problem solving aptitude required; experience troubleshooting extrusion-related issues is preferred Experience within cable and wire industry is a plus Experience with downstream equipment (winders, braiders, etc.) is a plus Experience with inspection tools and in-process measurement techniques Experience training and mentoring others is a plus Industrial math skills (decimals, tolerances, basic calculations for setup and process control) Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English Familiarity with general manufacturing procedures and safety standards Experience working within ISO certified quality environments is preferred Able to stand and walk for extended periods and safely lift up to 35 lbs (50 lbs occasionally) Forklift and other warehouse relevant machinery experience is a plus
