Shift Position Summary:

The General Operator role is responsible for performing production work, including operating machinery and pallet jacks, assembling components or parts, feeding, off-loading, and stacking in a safe and efficient manner. This role also requires inspection of the product to ensure quality. This person must have a strong work ethic and attention to detail.

General Operator I:

Responsible for operating machinery and performing production work within a single department.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

• Feed materials into machines specialized for wood components manufacturing and operate/maintain assigned machines in accordance with computer specifications.
• Handle, safely sort, and stack product and lumber by batch and order specification, as well as by dimension, species, and grade.
• Utilize pallet jacks to move lumber and perform housekeeping, basic maintenance, inspections, and required daily and weekly preventative maintenance checks on the pallet jacks.
• Wear required personal protective equipment at all times and be safety conscious in all job functions.
• Learn and train others on the job requirements; work well in a team environment and maintain a positive attitude.
• Adhere to company policies, SOPs, and quality standards; ensure quality of product according to company requirements.
• Maintain an excellent attendance record.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

High school education or equivalent preferred Basic understanding of measurements Ability to perform in a fast, labor-intensive environment with exposure to dust particles and loud machinery Ability to lift at least 60 - 75 pounds Ability to stand/walk 10 hours per shift Capability of performing repetitive motions such as bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and grasping. Must be able to pass drug screen

Pay:

From $17.00 per hour
