Graphic Design / Creative Department Unity Printing is a 47 year old family-owned and operated commercial printing company located in Latrobe, PA. that offers a wide range of printed products from paper products to promotional items and apparel. Unity Printing is seeking an energetic, self-motivated, detail oriented candidate for a position in our creative department at the Latrobe, PA location. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor that reflects the company's commitment to quality, continuous improvement and respect for individuals. Coordinate with Production Team to produce and prioritize jobs, and when necessary reorganize to meet deadline changes and updates. Comply with all OSHA safety requirements. Participate as a key player in the Production Team by supporting operations as needed. Communicate effectively with the Owner, Operations Manager, Production Manager, Bindery Lead, the sales team, and/or the production team, informing and updating them regularly to guarantee that both sales and customer objectives are met. Follow systems and procedures outlined in the company manuals.

• Graphic Design Perform all graphic design job orders according to job ticket requirements. Operate computer equipment (Mac and PC), scanners, laser and color printers, digital presses, vinyl cutters, large format printers. Interface with the Outside Sales Representatives, the Customer Service Representatives and the customer to understand job requirements and ensure all design work is approved prior to creating plates or forwarding for printing or copying. Coordinate with digital, offset, and screen printing press operators to ensure graphics work meets their expectations and requirements. Maintain a clean and well-organized graphics area. Receive and manipulate files electronically. Perform job imposition and book pagination as necessary.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of 2 years education in graphic design & advertising. Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in graphic design and /or print production experience. Comprehensive background, understanding, and experience with MAC and PC design using Creative Cloud. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Variable Data Printing, and various other graphic applications. Ability to prepare files for output to plate, spot and 4-color process, receive and manipulate files electronically and maintain operating system on production machine. Ability to send files to the platemakers and digital presses. Experience in book pagination and binding methods. Ability to move freely throughout the building to gather information, materials and authorizations. Meet or exceed minimum test results as specified by hiring manager.
