BASIC FUNCTION
Operate the electric band saw/Shear/Punch Press to prepare parts for Machining or Welding.
GENERAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Use metal cutting band saw to cut steel prior to machining. Clean and remove rust and debris from steel using an electric angle grinder. Assist with loading and unloading trucks. Use material handling equipment (Crane and Hoist) to place steel into storage racks. Clean and maintain the saw and area around the saw. Operate hydraulic punch to punch holes into steel. Program and Operate NC ironworker. Clean and maintain steel cleaning equipment. Responsible for producing acceptable work which meets or exceeds all Quality Control Standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area. Exhibit interpersonal skills sufficient to perform as an active team member. Perform other duties as assigned or required by company management. .
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or acceptable equivalent. Ability to speak, read, write and understand English. Must be able to use a tape measure, ruler and calipers. Able to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment. Ability to understand simple blueprints. Able to perform simple lay-out work.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequent lifting, pushing and pulling of up to 75 lbs. Routine bending, reaching and squatting. Ability to stand for 7+ hours per day.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Required to wear all OSHA mandated safety equipment and to adhere to all company safety practices and policies. Demonstrate a positive and business-like attitude. Conduct all interactions with customers (Internal and External), vendors, field sales representatives, co-workers, and supervisors in a focused, positive, courteous and respectful manner. Regular attendance is an essential element of the job. Unplanned absences have the potential to impair the operation of the department and diminish the effectiveness of the company.
