Electric Materials Co, a leader in high-quality electrical components since 1915, is seeking an Extrusion Lead Operator to oversee daily operations of an extrusion press line. In this role, you will set up and run extrusion equipment, monitor production quality, and ensure schedules are met safely and efficiently. You'll coordinate tasks, train operators, and support continuous improvement in a collaborative, team-focused environment. Responsibilities Lead daily operation of extrusion press lines to meet production targets Set up, adjust, and monitor extrusion equipment per specifications Perform in-process quality checks and maintain documentation Coordinate workflow, assign tasks, and support team members Train and mentor operators on procedures and safety practices Troubleshoot basic mechanical and process issues to minimize downtime Ensure compliance with safety, housekeeping, and 5 S standards Communicate with supervisors and maintenance on production status Track production metrics and suggest process improvements Assist with material handling, inventory, and job changeovers Required Skills Extrusion press operation Manufacturing process control Quality inspection Blueprint and spec reading Machine setup and adjustment Basic mechanical maintenance Safety and OSHA compliance Material handling Production scheduling and throughput Team leadership and training
