Manufacturing Trainee:
Earn Up to $400 While You Learn Are you curious about a career in manufacturing but not sure where to start?
Forging Futures:
Powered Up is a 4 week training program from Community Forge, offered in partnership with Catalyst Connection, that prepares adults 18 and older for work in the manufacturing field. You don't need any prior experience to apply, and you can earn up to $400 while you gain industry credentials and hands-on skills. The program starts October 5, with training held on-site at Mill 19 (4427 Lytle St, Pittsburgh, PA 15207) and at Community Forge (1256 Franklin Avenue, Wilkinsburg, PA 15221). About Forging Futures Forging Futures is a free program at Community Forge that combines hands-on job training with the personal support participants need to advance their careers. Launched in 2025 with the support of the Heinz Endowments, the program recognizes that training alone isn't enough, so we help participants work through challenges like housing and legal barriers while they learn. With one-on-one guidance from our team, participants earn industry credentials and gain the technical skills manufacturing employers are hiring for. After graduating, participants leave with connections to our employer partners and continued support for up to six months. What will your weeks look like? As a trainee, you will Engage in industry trainings: AC/DC Fundamentals, OSHA 10, Robotics Learn trade fundamentals and the tech skills used in advanced manufacturing Train hands-on with modern equipment at Mill 19 and Community Forge Receive career coaching and connect with our network of employer partners What will help you succeed? Interest in hands-on, technical work and a willingness to learn Dependability and a commitment to attending every session Minimum Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older Must have reliable transportation to Mill 19 and Community Forge Must be available for the full program, starting October 5 No prior manufacturing experience required After the program We provide career coaching and ongoing support so you can step into a manufacturing job with confidence.
