Job Description

Sandvik Mining & Rock is recruiting for a Crate Builder for our Romeoville warehouse Outbound Operations on our 2nd Shift (Mon-Fri 2:00P M-11 :00PM ). This is a hybrid position as a crate builder along with working in our Outbound Operations. Main responsibilities
Include:
Safely operate power tools and forklift with limited supervision Maintain a clean organized work area for safe operations Ability to build wood crates for our machinery for shipments both domestic and international Ability to build custom wood crates for packages for various size/weight machinery Pull parts from inventory for crating/packaging jobs Responsible for counting, verifying and moving items and quantities safely and accurately throughout the facility. Counting and verifying may be performed manually using paperwork or through the automated WMS function using an RF device Perform other warehouse operations such as other MHE, Dock and/or Tablework functions, inspection of product to look for damages and ensure proper quality and counting of product based on vendor/customer order quantities. Experience and Required Competencies 1-2 years' carpentry experience Ability to follow written instructions or specifications to build pallets, crates and stands Proficient in the use of electric and manual powered equipment such as table saws, skill saws, radial arm saws, drills, nail gun, measuring devices, drill bit and hardware Ability to work both independently and as a team Must be able to operate a forklift and lift truck High School or equivalent experience. Post-secondary education/training in business or supply chain discipline would be of advantage.
Desirable English Proficiency:
Intermediate (CEFR B1/ Completed EF level 6) Required Competencies Experience in carpentry, Warehouse Distribution and or Supply Chain environment and attention to detail.
