Job Description

The Pharmacy Technician - Ambulatory, Adherence Packaging supports a high-volume pharmacy operation focused on improving medication adherence through specialized packaging and proactive patient outreach. Following an initial training period, this hybrid role offers a primarily remote schedule, with most work conducted via phone in a fast-paced environment handling approximately 1,300 prescriptions per day. Responsibilities include case management support, managing a high volume of outbound and inbound calls, coordinating medication deliveries, and assisting patients with questions related to medications and insurance, including Medicare Part B. This role plays a meaningful part in supporting complex patient populations, including transplant patients, and contributes directly to improved health outcomes. The team fosters a supportive, patient-centered culture and is known for going above and beyond for both patients and caregivers. A caregiver in this position works Monday through Friday from with rotations starting from 7:00am to 6:00pm . No weekends, holidays or on-call requirements. The potential for overtime is available. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the pharmacist in an ambulatory/outpatient setting. Prepare prescription orders for dispensing to patients. Maintain inventory for the outpatient pharmacy. Assist with extemporaneous compounding of prescriptions and bulk compounding of prescriptions and over the counter items. Operate the point-of-sale cash register system. Monitor and act on reorder points, restock prescription and non-prescription area and remove expiring products. Provide multi-pharmacy support in assigned areas as needed. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High School Diploma/GED Ability to perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds ​ Must meet all of the following license and certification combination requirements at the time of application: Must hold an active registration as a Registered Pharmacy Technician through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) Please note: A status as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee with OBOP does not qualify for this role. However, please visit the apprenticeship program to express interest: https://talentcommunity.clevelandclinic.org/campaign/apprentiship-programs/ It is required, within 18 months from the date of hire: Must obtain a national certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA) AND Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Six months of hospital experience Prior outpatient experience
Physical Requirements:
Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing, reaching, stretching, stooping, and sitting for prolonged times; manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer, dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 20 lbs. while walking, stooping, bending and reaching.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range Minimum hourly:
$21.50 Maximum hourly: $31.00 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.). The pay range does not include the value of Cleveland Clinic's benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental and vision benefits, retirement savings account contributions, etc.).
