Job Title:
Extrusion Machine Operator Job Description The Extrusion Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting extrusion equipment used in the manufacturing of wire and cable products. This position ensures products are produced safely, efficiently, and within quality specifications while meeting production goals. Responsibilities Set up and operate extrusion machinery according to production specifications. Monitor line performance, temperatures, speeds, and material flow. Perform machine adjustments to maintain product quality. Conduct quality inspections and document production results. Use measuring tools to verify dimensions and specifications. Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and communicate larger concerns to maintenance. Complete equipment changeovers and material loading as needed. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area. Meet production and quality targets while minimizing scrap. Essential Skills 1+ years of extrusion, machine operation, or manufacturing experience. Ability to read and follow work instructions. Experience working in a production environment. Basic computer and documentation skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. Additional Skills & Qualifications Wire & Cable manufacturing experience. Plastic extrusion experience. Setup/changeover experience. Quality inspection experience. Mechanical troubleshooting skills. Training is conducted on the first shift. Ensure a clean room environment with consistent weekday hours. Openings available for 8 am to 4 pm, 4 pm to 12 pm, and 12 pm to 8 am. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ashaway, RI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
