Non-exempt Schedule:
Monday-Thursday 10 hour days.
Job summary:
A laser machine operator (metal fabrication) works to manufacture metal products using machines that employ lasers and computerized equipment. This position is responsible to the daily setup and operations of the laser cutting machine. He/she will also assist other operators with any of their daily duties including area housekeeping, maintenance work, and material staging.
Responsibilities :
Performs daily startup and shutdown procedures of equipment. Stage raw materials for the day's production. Load and unload machines. Ensure production schedule follow through as allocated by scheduling. Performs minor maintenance and cleaning of cutting equipment. Performs all other duties as required. Keeps laser beds clean, so there is no minimal build-up of slag on slots of table. Keeps conveyor label clean for smooth operation.
Skills:
Experience with operating laser, cutting machines. Ability to inspect flat laser and cut parts with precisions inspection equipment. Demonstrate ability to read drawings. Familiarity with sheet metal flat patterns preferred.
Physical requirements:
