ST SHIFT Description:

Summary Responsible for operating dye jets, becks, and Braun dye extractors to ensure that fabric is dyed according to customer specifications. Minimum Job Requirements High School diploma preferred Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematics Ability to follow directions Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers in the Dyeing/Finishing area Vision correctable to 20/20 with the ability to distinguish between shades of color Ability to stand and walk constantly on a concrete floor Ability to walk frequently around machines and throughout the plant Ability to push and pull buggies of fabric occasionally Ability to lift up to 60 pounds frequently when loading fabric into machines Ability to handle paperwork frequently Ability to carry buckets of chemicals frequently Ability to bend and stoop frequently to fill buckets with chemicals Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Essential Functions Read dye sheets for specific lots to be dyed Weigh dyes and chemicals precisely to the gram as needed for each dye lot Place the correct amounts of dyes and chemicals beside the appropriate equipment Load fabric into the dye equipment and fill it with water Verify that water temperature and pH levels are correct before beginning the dyeing process Add chemicals in the proper order according to the formula sheet Cut swatches when dyeing is complete and take them to the lab for testing Make any necessary adjustments to the dye Other Skills & Desired Attributes Assist with general housekeeping of the work area Rinse and gather empty chemical buckets from around the dye equipment Sew rolls together when loading the jet Cross-train on other jobs to fill in as needed Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
