Description Job Summary:
Bongards' Creameries is seeking a Night Shift Machine Operator at our Humboldt facility. This position is focused on operating cheese making equipment on a rotational basis with the goal of a permanent assigned position in one of the four production lines. Responsibilities include machine operation, basic equipment troubleshooting, availability for multi-line coverage, other duties as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Follow instructions (verbal, written) from lead, supervisor or designated person Understand and follow Good Manufacturing Practices for PPE, Production and Cleanliness (Handwashing, Uniform, Tools, etc) Learn to operate multiple machines (filler, casting line, wrapper, former, grinder, massman, bander, etc) Able to react quickly to resolve issues Monitor quality of boxes, pouches, labels and communicate to others Unwrap barrels, ensure cheese packages are made correctly Assemble pallets of dry ingredients according to the blend sheet and update ROSS system Open cheese packages and place in rework containers Cleaning and sanitizing of machines, work areas after production is finished Keep work area neat, clean and organized Work in a safe, efficient manner in a fast paced team environment Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent Excellent Math, Reading and Writing skills Strong communication skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines Ability to work independently on assigned duties Adaptable to sudden changes and willing to learn new skills Knowledge of HMI screens, computers, and PIT is a plus Dependable member of a team Adaptable to work in Cold and Warm environments Mechanical aptitude Must adhere to and follow all Safety, GMP, other quality guidelines Must report all food safety problems to immediate supervisor or designated replacement Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs
Schedule:
Night Shift 5:30pm to 6:00am Monday
