Job Description
Responsible for the overall setup, operation, and cleanliness of the Quad Seal machine. This position will work in conjunction with the Quad Seal Jr. Operators to set the machine according to predefined die line dimensions while following established process conditions. Will provide direction to the Jr. Operators and coordinate with the scheduling group to insure the proper material is completed in a timely manner to facility shipment to the customer. Performs machine setup and job changes to meet production demands. Threads material through machine guides and rollers. Coordinates Quad Seal team workflows and provides direction for operational parameters. Observes operations and adjusts machine (heat, sealing pressure, cut-off, etc.) to ensure accurate cutting, folding, and sealing of packages. Enters production data such as material waste, run times, down codes, etc. into the computer. Keeps equipment and related work areas in a neat and orderly manner. Troubleshoots process, machine, and auxiliary equipment problems and makes necessary changes to ensure quality and reduce downtime Works with Department Manager to identify ways to improve productivity and reduce scrap, defects, etc. Works with quality inspectors to identify defects and make machine adjustments to correct and eliminate. Assists Jr. Operators in packing out material when necessary. Will perform other related work as required. All employees are responsible for reporting food safety and quality issues to those who can initiate action. High School diploma or G.E.D. Previous bag-making/Machine operating experience. Excellent organizational skills. Willingness to work nights, weekends, etc. as needed. Ability to read and understand the production order copy, process conditions, and die lines
