Job Title:
Batch Maker (3rd Shift) Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Batch Maker to join our team on the 3rd shift. The hours for this role are Monday through Friday, from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. The Batch Maker is responsible for reviewing assigned formulas for chemical and packaging requirements and ensuring the proper sequence of reactions and mixing. The ideal candidate will complete assigned batches within the allotted time and safely operate equipment. Responsibilities Review assigned formulas for chemical and packaging requirements, ensuring proper sequence of reactions and mixing. Complete assigned batches within the allotted time. Retrieve ingredients as indicated on the formula, ensuring only QC-approved ingredients are used. Accurately measure ingredients and record substitutions or over-pours with supervisor approval. Follow good manufacturing guidelines and monitor equipment throughout the batch process. Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks to gather raw materials. Notify warehouse or supervisor of missing raw materials needed to complete batch. Package approved batches and label all finished product containers. Stock supplies and label containers of raw materials when needed. Use equipment in proper working condition and perform routine maintenance as required. Clean, sanitize, and inspect tools, pumps, tanks, pipelines, and other equipment. Complete end-of-day procedures including restocking raw materials, housekeeping, and waste documentation. Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to safety regulations and procedures. Train new operators and mixers and assist in other areas of the plant. Perform other work-related duties as assigned. Observe all safety rules and procedures while performing duties. Follow lock-out tag-out procedures. Essential Skills Experience as a mixer, operator, blender, or batch maker. Proficiency in machine operation, compounding, and batching. Basic math skills. 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or production, especially in a liquid environment, is highly preferred. Work Environment The role is set in a general manufacturing environment focused on soap making. The plant is smaller, temperature-controlled, and features strong smells including soap fragrances. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.86 - $21.86/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
