TITLE:
Work Program/Student
POSITION OBJECTIVE
The interns are to assist in the proper identification of slit rolls and to ensure each roll is packed and labeled according to the customer specifications. Interns under the age of eighteen (18) are not authorized to use motorized equipment. This includes but is not limited to; forklifts, cranes, slitting machines, conveyers, balers, core-cutters, and wrapping machines.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary. Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions. High School graduate or equivalent Oral and Written communication skills Computer Skills Mechanical Aptitude Ability to work as a team member
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Learn to read and verify customer requirements by reviewing the setup and exception codes. Assist in the staging and use the proper packing supplies to include banding of the finished product. Enter data into the computer at the packing station and at the stretch-wrapping station. Must be able to print labels at the packaging station and know how to verify the roll width and data for each finished roll coming off the conveyers. Must be able to weigh the finished pallet and to properly apply label to pallet verifying data. Assist in maintaining good housekeeping and safe working environment. Interact and communicate with fellow packers, production supervisor, lead technician, and slitting technicians as required. Assist in any function of the slitting department as requested by our lead operator and/or supervisor. Complies with all SQF procedures. Reports any food safety problems to a member of management or SQF Practitioner.
WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION
Manufacturing Environment Inside and outside environments apply. Subject to extreme cold; temperatures below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Subject to extreme heat; temperatures above 100 degrees for more than one hour. Subject to noise, causing reason to shout in order to be heard above the noise level.
