The Foam Machine Operator III is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining foam press equipment that meets quality, safety, and production standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to work instructions, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role will also train other machine operators as needed. Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, this position is based in Parsons, Tennessee•.
Major Accountability:
Safety Quality Production Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
Set up and operate foam press equipment according to work instructions, specifications, and production schedules Perform in-process inspections and tooling changes using a tape measure Load raw foam materials into press molds and remove finished parts after press cycles Monitor press operation, temperatures, pressures, and cycle times to ensure consistent product quality Inspect completed parts for defects, damage, or non‑conformance Accurately complete production logs, scrap, and safety checklists Communicate equipment issues, quality concerns, or material shortages to supervisors Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements, and quality standards Keep work areas clean and organized in accordance with 5S standards Support continuous improvement and teamwork initiatives Perform minor adjustments and routine maintenance on press equipment Identify defects, scrap causes, and process improvement opportunities Adjust machine settings, tooling, and programs to meet dimensional and quality requirements Ability to train machine operators Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and quality teams to resolve production issues Conduct routine preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting on assigned machines Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice and the employee may be assigned additional tasks as needed to support the business operations.
Qualifications Job Requirements:
More than 5 years' experience required in Construction and/or Manufacturing and/or have demonstrated the ability to operate at least 50% of foam machinery consistently and efficiently In depth knowledge of the product and fabrication Ability to read and interpret blueprints and tape measures Perform basic math and reading comprehension Ability to read, speak, and understand English Ability to stand/walk on concrete for a full shift and work in temperatures above 95°F Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, and lift 50 lbs. alone; lift more than 50 lbs. with assistance Ability to handle tools safely and inspect finished products Must be able to wear
