Job Description
Modern Forge, Piney Flats, TN, is accepting applications for a Trim Die Setup and Repairman. You will make repairs to trimming, shearing, coining, and punching dies during and after production. Additionally, you will refit shear, trimming and punching dies as required and set up trim and punch presses in hammer shop. After 30 days of service, you become eligible for company paid holidays. After 3 months of service, you become eligible for participation in our medical, dental, vision, and 401K coverage. After 6 months of service, you are eligible for vacation pay. After 30 days of service, you become eligible for company paid holidays. After 3 months of service, you become eligible for participation in our medical, dental, vision, and 401K coverage. After 6 months of service, you are eligible for vacation pay. Responsibilities Receives instructions and work assignments from Foreman. Reads and interprets blueprints and plans working procedure. Removes dies from trim presses and returns same to die shops for repairs. Uses forklift or overhead crane or hand truck to transport dies. Also replaces die in presses. Makes repairs to trimming, shearing, punching, etc., as required. •Performs welding, machining, polishing, and grinding operations as required. Re-fits trimming, shearing, and punching dies by welding, machining, and re-fitting as required. •Returns dies and lead casts to storage racks after repairs are completed. Makes repairs on dies at machine locations in shop by hand grinding and polishing as necessary. Sets up and operates a variety of machine tools such as a milling machine, lathe, surface grinder, etc., in performing repair work. Moves portable presses to proper units with crane when possible. Sets up and trimming dies, punching dies, shear dies, in portable and stationary presses in the hammer shop Follows all safety procedures. Requirements and Qualifications High school diploma or GED is required. Relevant experience preferred. Additional Requirements Final candidates will be required to undergo a background check and a drug screening as part of the hiring process.
